Mustaches for Kids, San Francisco is back for 2008!

That's right, our annual fundraiser taking place the weeks just before Thanksgiving through the days right before Christmas, will be coming back to the Bay Area for its seventh year (which will hopefully be our hairiest yet).

Mustaches for Kids is a volunteer-run organization founded way back in 1999 to celebrate the joys of mustaches and charity. Its formula is a simple one: brave Growers sprout totally sweet Mustaches for four weeks during the holiday season. They subject themselves to public humiliation and private doubt, while raising money for children’s charities. It’s kind of like getting pledges to run a charity race, without exertion, cramping or dehydration. Call it a facial hair marathon.

This year, M4KSF will be benefitting DonorsChoose.org, a revolutionary educational charity that empowers teachers in underfunded schools to choose projects in their classrooms for donors to fund directly. Growers will be choosing the projects that speak most to them -- and they'll be hearing directly from the kids who will benefit from them directly. It's gonna be a fun, follicularly challenging season. One that's more personal and heroic than ever.

If you'd like to be a grower, please let us know. Write to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll get right back to you. The first "checkpoint" meet-up for all growers will be taking place the second week of November. Come take part in a fundraising event like no other. Do it for you. Do it for the schools. Do it for the kids. Just do it. (Sorry, Nike.)

Grow with us,
Alex and Jon
